Picture Description
There are no plants in bloom visible in this picture, we've included it as it has something magical about it.
NB:
- Sorry about the car in the driveway, but that's our parking spot.
- The oak tree framing the left and top left of the photograph was removed - as were all trees on our side of the street, thank goodness they left the row of oaks across the road intact, courtesy of our local authority.
The tree removal was "necessary as the roots were raising the paving stones" as we were informed by our town council.
- Agreed.
- But just two years before, our entire street and pavement had been re-laid for precisely the same problem.
- Several local residents suggested that the local authority replace our oaks with a tree variety that did not root near the surface as part of the job, to no avail.
- Now we have no trees at all on our side of the street, to the detriment of our bird life, especially the collared doves.
- Bureaucracy gone mad is how we see it - and very inefficient with taxpayers funds too!
