Rose Arch in Autumn

The features, autumn colours and plants in bloom are -

• Cottage garden features: Right archway of our double rose arch, an array of colours, background - trees, tall shrubs and perennial plants.
• Cottage gardening autumn flowers and colours in the:
  • Foreground - Mignon, our Shih Tzu sweetheart (not a flower, I know, but she's part of the family), white asters and a tree mallow supported by a pruned shrub branch (we re-cycle all pruned materials in some way or another and use lot's of cuttings as plant supports - very cheap and add to the natural appearance).
  • Middle ground - a pink rose, our bird feeder hanging from the rose arch, pokeweed leaves ablaze in red and tree mallow seed pods turned pink by the sun.
  • Background - the dark green (in the shade) and yellow-green (coloured by the sunlight) leaves of summer lilac and more pink roses on the rose arch.
