The features, autumn colours and plants in bloom are -

Cottage garden features: double rose arch, background - our home and the pergola (built in summer 2006) for the wisteria.
Cottage gardening autumn flowers and colours in the:
- Foreground - wild chamomile, Cuddles, the Persian cat (not a flower, I know, but she's part of the family), Rosa 'Smarty' (light pink flowers in summer, palest pink - almost white and golden pink in autumn) used as a climbing rose, cranesbill and Chinese witch hazel seed heads coloured pink by the sunshine.
- Double rose arch - more Rosa 'Smarty' and an old-fashioned pink rose (still haven't found the correct name) with a wonderful scent that fills the entire garden on a sunny day. Next to the double rose arch the green leaves - in autumn!? - of the beauty bush.
- Background - the wooden pergola covered with the yellowing leaves of wisteria. This has been the warmest year since records began in Holland and both wisteria and beauty bush finally dropped their leaves in the last week of December - they are normally bare by November at the latest in our sheltered back garden.
